The Volkswagen Amarok Edition is a limited-run version of the company’s pick-up. Based on the Trendline model and limited to just 300 units, it adds £3,400 worth of additional equipment for around £1,400 more.
The Amarok Edition’s extra features include 18-inch Durban alloy wheels, black side steps, black load bay styling bars, rear privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors, a load bay protector, satellite navigation and special edition logos outside and in.
It’s powered by VW’s 2.0-litre BiTDI 180 PS engine, which boasts 420 Nm of torque and a 3,200 kg towing capacity.
There’s a choice of either six-speed manual transmission mated to the selectable 4Motion four-wheel drive system, or an eight-speed automatic transmission with permanent 4Motion four-wheel drive. The automatic model also incorporates the company’s BlueMotion technology, which includes low rolling resistance tyres, start/stop system and regenerative braking.
Two colours are available: Reflex Silver with black door mirrors, or Deep Black with silver door mirrors.
Prices start from £22,495 (exc. VAT) for the manual model and £24,225 (exc. VAT) for the auto.
The Amarok Edition goes on sale this July.
