The Volvo S90 saloon and V90 estate have both received a series of subtle styling tweaks, as well as an updated sound system and 48V mild-hybrid powertrains.

Both models feature new front foglight designs, a new spoiler and a new lower front bumper.

The V90 gains a new rear light design with LED signature lighting and a sequential turn indicator.

New exterior colour options and alloy wheel designs round out the exterior changes.

Inside, all 60 and 90 series Volvos now feature an upgraded Bowers & Wilkins sound system with a new amplifier, automatic vehicle noise cancellation and a new ‘jazz club’ setting.

In addition, there’s a new Advanced Air Cleaner system with PM 2.5 particle sensor that monitors interior air quality and can remove nearly all air-borne particles from the cabin in a few minutes.  Originally developed for the Chinese market, the system is now being rolled out globally.

The rear-mounted 12V outlet has been replaced with more useful USB-C charging points, while wireless smartphone charging – first introduced on the XC40 – is now available on most 60 and 90 series cars.

Top trim models are now available with a leather-free option, while the tailored wool blends introduced on the XC90 last year are now also available on other 60 and 90 series Volvos.

Under the bonnet, the 48V mild-hybrid powertrains that first made their appearance in the XC60 and XC90 are now available in every model in the Volvo range
