Volvo has been voted overall ‘Best Manufacturer’ in the first British Insurance Car Security Awards (BICSA).
In addition, Volvo’s C70 came second in the Convertible/Roadster class, while the new S40 saloon, V50 sportswagon, together with their predecessors the S40 and V40 Classic, came second in the Family Car class.
Volvo’s security features include an alarm with immobiliser and deadlocks as standard on all models, with the added personal safety feature of Home Safe and Approach lighting, and the option of laminated side windows now available for most of the range.
The BISCA aim is to raise consumer awareness of vehicle security and recognise manufacturers’ efforts to make more secure cars. To be eligible for the awards, all cars had to pass strict selection criteria in line with the New Vehicle Security Ratings scheme (NVSR) developed by the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre.
