Volkswagen has revealed pricing for the new Polo Dune, a rugged-ised supermini with a 20mm suspension lift.

The Polo Dune combines the ground clearance and rugged looks of a 4×4 with the compact proportions and nimble dynamics of a supermini.

The Dune is available with a choice of three engines: a 1.2-litre 65 PS three-cylinder petrol; a 1.4-litre 75 PS four-cylinder petrol; and a 1.4-litre 75 PS TDI three-cylinder diesel. All come with five-speed manual transmission as standard.

Standard equipment includes: semi-automatic climate control, ABS, electric glass sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, four electric windows, CD player, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, front fog lights, remote central locking and four airbags.  Only two options are offered: metallic or pearl effect paint and a six-disc CD autochanger.

The 1.2-litre petrol model starts the range off at £12,495.  The 1.4-litre petrol is £12,870, while the range-topping 1.4-litre TDI diesel comes in at £13,470.

The first cars are due to arrive in the UK next month.
