The new SsangYong Turismo, which replaces the previous model known as the Rodius, is now available to order in the UK priced from £17,995.
SsangYong say the new Turismo is one of the largest MPVs on the market, and can accommodate seven adults and 875 litres of luggage, or two adults and 3,146 litres.
The new model features a 3,000mm wheelbase and three rows of seats, the last row of which can be removed completely.
The second row allows walk-through access to row three, and can be folded individually to be used as tables.
The Turismo is powered by SsangYong’s own 2.0-litre turbodiesel producing 155PS at 4,000rpm and 360Nm of torque from 1,500-2,800rpm.
There’s a choice of either six-speed manual or five-speed Mercedes automatic transmission, while the range-topping EX model incorporates selectable four wheel-drive complete with a low-ratio mode.
All Turismo models can tow up to 2.5 tonnes.
Standard equipment includes air conditioning, electric door mirrors, and MP3 CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, while the ES model adds leather upholstery, electric driver’s seat, heated front seats and rear parking sensors. The EX model tops the range with heated lower windscreen to stop the wipers from freezing in cold weather, solar controlled glass, and automatic wipers. Cruise control is standard on ES Auto and EX models.
Five colours are available: Wine Black, Black, Gunmetal Grey, Silver and White.
“With prices starting from just £17,995, there really is nothing like it in the market,” says Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK. “With key features being its innovative and flexible design layout, luxurious interior and highly competitive pricing, the new Turismo is a compelling proposition. Not only do you get a lot of car for the money, you also have the reassurance of an industry-leading 5 year limitless mileage warranty for complete peace of mind.”
