SEAT has announced that the new Leon ST will be priced from £16,675 when it goes on sale in October, giving it an £825 premium over the regular five-door hatchback model.
The Leon ST offers a 587-litre boot capacity, up from 380 litres of the hatchback models.
This expands to 1,470 litres with the rear seats folded, an operation that can be performed by pulling a handle mounted in the load bay.
The load lip has been lowered so that it is flush with the load floor, making it easier to load bulky items.
The Leon ST is available in three trim grades – S, SE and FR. All Leon ST models include roof rails, double-floor load bay, rear reading light, 12v socket and through loading hatch as standard.
Engine choices include 105PS 1.2-litre, 140PS 1.4-litre, and 180PS 1.8-litre petrol units, plus a 1.6-litre TDI in either 105PS or 110PS Ecomotive guise, together with a 2.0-litre TDI in 150PS and 184PS variants.
Transmission options are five- and six-speed manuals and six- or seven-speed dual-clutch DSG units.
The SEAT Leon ST will be available to order from 1st October 2013, with first deliveries expected in January 2014.
