The new SEAT Leon FR TDI – powered by a 184 PS 2.0-litre TDI turbodiesel engine, and the hottest new Leon available so far – is available to order now with prices starting £22,075.

The new 2.0-litre TDI engine produces 184 PS and an incredible 380 Nm of torque at just 1,750 rpm – more than a Porsche Cayman S, and earlier in the rev range, too.

That’s power enough to accelerate from rest to 62 mph in just 7.5 seconds.

However, SEAT is most proud of its economy and efficiency.  The new Leon FR is capable of 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle, while emitting just 109 g/km of CO2.  That means the first year’s road tax is precisely zero, and is only £20 a year after that.  For business users, BIK is only 16%

The new TDI engine features direct injection and start/stop technology to switch off the engine when the car is at rest and in neutral.  The Leon FR is currently available with a six-speed manual transmission only.

The FR models feature multi-link rear suspension instead of the torsion beam set-up of the boggo models, and the ride height has been lowered by 15 mm.

All FR models carry SEAT’s black and red FR badging, together with LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, FR-spec front and rear bumpers, privacy glass, twin chrome tailpipes, dual-zone climate control, sports seats, SEAT’s Easy Connect media system with Bluetooth connectivity, and SEAT’s Drive Profile system which offers three modes of steering feel and throttle response.

The new SEAT Leon FR TDI is available to order now priced from £22,075 for the three-door SC and £22,375 for the five-door.  First deliveries are expected in September 2013.
