Saab’s 9-3 saloon will go on sale in China at the end of June.

The 9-3 joins the 9-5 saloon, which is already on sale in the world’s fastest growing market.

Saab boss Peter Augustsson said: “We expect Saab’s understated European styling and high performance to appeal to Chinese consumers, just like they appeal to vehicle buyers in Sweden and around the world.”

Phil Murtaugh, chairman of the GM China Group, added: “We are bringing in Saab products that meet the specific demands of well-educated and discerning professionals in China. These are people who seek something different to conventional premium saloons.”
