Renault has introduced a brand new enhancement of its most popular trim levels – Dynamique and Expression – the Navigation, which for the first time will offer a comprehensive full colour large screen satellite navigation system worth £1,100 as standard in the overall price which has risen by only £550 making it half price.

This latest enhancement of the Laguna 2006 range ensures its position of providing customers with a fresh, modern vehicle which is both stylish and practical for every-day motoring, whilst offering top quality and unrivalled interior equipment. The popular Expression interior trim has also been updated with dark grey upholstery giving it a contemporary and luxurious feel.

The inclusion of sat nav as standard is in response to customer demand for this potentially marriage saving piece of equipment, but particularly in the fleet sector where arriving at appointments on time is vital, as the Laguna Navigation includes live traffic information ensuring Laguna is an even more ideal choice for the fleet market.

As the system is full integrated and partially operated with fingertip remote controls mounted on the hi-fi stalk behind the steering wheel, it means that attention is kept firmly on the road, essential for fleets where duty of care is an increasingly important issue.

The Laguna Expression Navigation and Dynamique Navigation are available in a choice of four engines, the 2.0 VVT 135, 2.0 VVT 135 Auto, the 1.9 dCi 130 FAP and the dCi 150. It is available in Hatch or Sport Tourer versions.

Prices start from £16,650 rising to £18,750 in the Expression Navigation range, whilst the Dynamique Navigation’s prices start from £17,750 rising to £19,850 for the Hatch version. This offers customers a saving of £550.

The 2006 Laguna range offers customers upmarket quality and unrivalled standard equipment compared to its rivals.

For example, Laguna Dynamique Navigation sets a benchmark in the segment with more standard features than the equivalent Ford Mondeo 2.0 Zetec NAV, Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 SRI Nav, Toyota Avensis 1.8 T3-S and Peugeot 407 SE 2.0.

Laguna 2006’s Navigation models offer a top-of-the-range comprehensive satellite navigation system as standard that once again blows the competition out of the water with rivals who offer only monochrome, turn-by-turn or arrow guidance sat nav systems.

Following on from the introduction of Renault’s Bluetooth satellite navigation systems last year first seen in the New Laguna 2006 range, the Navigation trim provides customers with a safety-tested, optimally positioned, dash-mounted full colour screen (maps and arrows) Carminat Colour Satellite Navigation System with fingertip remote controls mounted on the hi-fi stalk behind the steering wheel.

Satellite navigation has been identified as an essential item particularly for fleet customers where it takes the hassle out of a journey by eliminating the added stress of trying to locate a destination and many depend on the system especially when visiting clients. With Laguna’s Navigation versions, customers are assured of a top quality package which will also assist healthy future residuals.

The Carminat Colour Navigation system automatically determines the vehicles position via GPS, includes a colour map with voice synthesiser, has points of interest locations (petrol stations, hospitals etc) and has unlimited destination search using:

  • road map (on the CD or stored in the system memory)
  • Live traffic information TMC – congestion alert (nature and estimated time for hold-up to clear) and alternative route suggested
  • Step-by-step route directions through the display screen and via voice messages
  • Can be partially operated through the hands-free radio control stalk

Not only this but Renault Laguna was the first-ever car to obtain the maximum five-star rating from Euro NCAP so customers are assured that they are travelling in comfort and safety.

Expression Navigation includes all of the core features and standard equipment featured on the Expression trim it is based upon including automatic light sensor activated headlamps, automatic parking brake and new centre console, front fog lamps and Leather Steering wheel to name just a few.
