Renault has expanded the Kangoo range with two new versions – the ‘Venture’ special edition and a new entry-level diesel, Authentique 1.5 dCi 65, both available to order now.
The new Kangoo ‘Venture’ has been created apparently for outdoorsy types. It has a retail price of £11,200, but Renault promises a guaranteed customer saving of £1,500, bringing the price down to £9,700 on the road.
The Kangoo ‘Venture’ features ABS, twin front airbags, electric front windows, single CD-RDS radio, remote central locking, roof bars and unique ‘Venture’ interior trim and badging on the sliding rear doors. It’s available in Marine Blue, Cherry Red, Cosmic Grey or Ecosse Blue, with air conditioning and metallic paint as optional extras at £565 and £325 respectively.
The new model is also the only car with a four star Euro NCAP rating compared to its immediate competitors, Citroen Berlingo, Fiat Doblo and Peugeot Partner.
Powered by Renault’s 1.5 dCi 80 engine, the ‘Venture’ achieves fuel economy of 53.3 mpg on the combined cycle.
Joining the new ‘Venture’ is the new Authentique 1.5 dCi 65 available now for £9,900 on the road. The latest version retains all of the Authentique’s standard equipment but the new engine returns 51.4 mpg on a combined cycle and CO² emissions of 146g/km.
The ‘Venture’ sits in insurance group 4E with the Authentique dCi 65 yet to be classified but likely to be in the same grouping. Both come with a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty, standard service intervals of 18,000 miles or once every two years, and three years free Renault Roadside Assistance.
