Renault’s MPV, the Espace, is to benefit from a range of revisions and a new version – the Dynamique.

From 1 January 2005, the range will include a new trim level, Dynamique, as well as better value and simpler ranges of both Espace and Grand Espace, including new interior trim, option packs and revised engine choices.

The new Dynamique will be available in a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines (depending on model), including the 3.0 V6 dCi Auto and 3.5 V6 Auto which were only previously available on top-of-the-range Privilège and Initiale trim.

The new model is based on the mid-range Expression adding new specific design high-gloss 17″ alloy wheels, dual front automatic climate control, extra tinted glass on the rear windows and tailgate, heat reflecting windscreen, carbon and beige interior trim with new ‘Cantanzaro’ part leather sports style seats and roof bars.

Aside from the arrival of Dynamique, other trim levels are also revised, starting with the entry-level Authentique which gains a new interior treatment with ‘Sam’ dark upholstery and carbon and beige trim.

The Privilège version gains rear parking sensors, hands-free Renault Card for ignition and locking, roof bars, rain sensitive front windscreen wipers and automatic front headlamps.

There’s also a more streamlined list of engines across various trim levels including the removal of the 3.0 V6 and 3.5 V6 dCi for Privilège, and 2.0T 16V for Initiale on Espace, and deletion of the 1.9 dCi for Expression and 2.0T 16V for Initiale on Grand Espace.

Customers will now also be able to specify their cars with even more luxury equipment thanks to the introduction of four brand new option packs – Comfort, Driving, Convenience and Ultimate Style – which include the following:

Comfort (£1,500)

  • Hands Free Renault Card and electric folding door mirrors
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 4 x 40W dash-mounted 6 CD multi-changer

Convenience (£750)

  • 6 rear sunblinds
  • Opening tailgate window
  • Rear climate control
  • Swivelling front seats (with folding door mirrors and anti-pinch rear windows)

Driving (£575 – manual versions only)

  • Cruise control with speed limiter
  • Parking proximity sensors
  • Tyre pressure monitor

Ultimate Style (£1,000)

  • 18″ alloy wheels
  • Extra tinted glass on rear windows and tailgate

The last change to the new Espace range comes in the form of two colours, with Mercury Grey and Nordic Green replacing Mercury Grey and Amazon Green respectively.

However, Renault will increase its prices across the range by an average of £300.
