Prices have just been announced for the new version of Vauxhall’s Zafira mini MPV.
The order books open this week, and prices start from as little as £12,995, with generous equipment levels across the range.
Five trim variants will be available at launch – Expression, Life, Club, Design and SRi. Like for like, the all new Zafira represents even more for your money than its predecessor. For example, the Zafira Life 1.6 16v gets side airbags and roof rails over the existing model, yet at £14,995 is £350 cheaper.
Move up to Club trim and there are even greater gains – at £15,695 in 1.6-litre 16v form, the all-new model costs £650 less than the equivalent old Zafira, yet gets alloy wheels, plus side and curtain airbags.
And to make Zafiras even better value for money, Vauxhall is offering a special deal to the first customers to place their orders. Anyone who puts down a deposit for a Zafira Life, with a choice of 1.6 or 2.2-litre petrol engines or a 120PS diesel, will be offered £1,050 worth of extras for just £500. The special ‘Launch Pack’, available to any buyer placing their order before 31 July, includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a trip computer, cruise control and Electronic Climate Control.
The Zafira’s highly-competitive pricing means it seems even more attractive when compared to key rivals in the sector, with the Zafira 1.6 Life, for example, costing £915 less than the similarly equipped Renault Grand Scenic 1.6 Expression.
It’s not just more equipment for your money either, as the new Zafira is bigger both inside and out than the existing model. Every new Zafira is fitted with the ingenious Flex7 seating system, while innovations including Vauxhall’s acclaimed IDSPlus and Continuous Damping Control, Panoramic Roof with storage and Adaptive Forward Lighting are available from the options list.
A range of engines will appear in new Zafiras, with petrol units including a 105PS 1.6-litre 16v TWINPORT and a range-topping 200PS 2.0-litre Turbo now available to make the most of the new car’s dynamic chassis. Later in the year, a 240PS, 144mph VXR variant will join the range, to become the fastest production MPV in Britain, while an all-new 140PS 1.8-litre engine will debut in the autumn.
Diesel models, which use Vauxhall’s technologically-advanced 1.9-litre CDTi powerplants in either 120PS or 150PS form, start from £16,995 – and offer huge leaps forward in terms of economy and performance compared to the outgoing model.
The first New Zafiras will be delivered to customers in the summer, with a special launch programme at Vauxhall dealers taking place on the weekend of 23-24 July.
