SEAT has made changes to the line up and prices of its best-selling model, the Ibiza.

The range now starts with the Ibiza Reference priced at £8,000. This new model comes with electric front windows, radio CD, rev counter, digital clock, twin front airbags with passenger airbag deactivation, ABS with EBA, remote central locking and immobiliser. There’s a choice of 1.2-litre 64PS or 1.4-litre 75PS petrol engines, with a 1.4-litre 75PS TDi version available for £9,200.

The same 1.2 and 1.4 petrol engines are also available on the next model up, Ibiza S. The Ibiza S has the same specification list as the Reference plus air conditioning, and the 1.4 litre version is available with automatic gearbox only. Prices are £8,300 for the 1.2 and £9,500 for the 1.4 Auto – a saving of £465 on the previous Auto price.

Ibiza SX specification was introduced earlier this year on 1.2 litre models, but now replaces the previous SE model. This model gets climate control, front fog lights and 15″ alloy wheels added to its spec and is priced at £8,800 for the 1.2 and 1.4, £10,000 for the 1.4 TDi and £10,900 for the more powerful 1.9 TDi 100PS.

Prices of the recently introduced Ibiza FR models have also been cut, with both the 1.8 20V T 150PS and 1.9 TDi 130PS versions now available for £12,950.

The Ibiza Cupra, launched at the Motor Show Live in May, has also had its price cut. The 1.9 TDi 160PS version now costs £15,500, a reduction of £500, and matches the price of the 1.8 20V T 180PS version which will be available later in the year.
