Following the launch of the new Peugeot 308 hatchback, a new estate model – the Peugeot 308 SW – will join the range in the spring, having made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Based on the same EMP2 platform as the hatchback, the 308 SW is 327mm longer at 4,580mm, and as a result is said to boast class-leading boot capacity.

With the rear seats in place, capacity is 610 litres, beating key rivals such as the VW Golf Estate and Ford Focus Estate.

However, the company hasn’t revealed the precise capacity with the seats folded, an operation performed in a single action via a lever inside the boot.

The engine range will mirror that of the hatchback, and will include a new BlueHDi diesel engine that emits just 85 g/km of CO2.

The new 308 SW will make its debut appearance at Geneva in March, and will go on sale in the spring.
