As Peugeot is gearing up for the release of the new 207 in the middle of 2006, it has unveiled a new concept car to hint at a possible new sporting direction – the 207 RCup.
The 207 RCup is designed to take 207 excitement to a new level.
It’s powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre 16v petrol engine, that produces 280bhp @ 8,500rpm. It transmits its power to the road through a 6-speed sequential gearbox and 18″ alloy wheels.
Peugeot bosses say the 207 RCup could be the design blueprint for a future Peugeot Sport competition programme.
The standard 207 hits showrooms across the UK in a few months’ time. Three petrol and three HDi diesel engines are available at launch, followed soon after by more powerful petrol power units from the PSA Peugeot Citroen/BMW collaboration.
