Nissan GB has at last got the go ahead to sell the 350Z Roadster – in the words of Carlos Ghosn, Nissan’s president and CEO, the decision was a ‘no brainer’.
The drop-top will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on 23 September. Although the Roadster has already been on sale in the US for a year, us Brits will have to wait a while longer – at least until early next year – before deliveries will start.
Prices will be announced at the Paris Motor Show as will, presumably, production figures. The Coupe is currently subject to a five month waiting list, and it’s likely the Roadster will create a similar queue at Nissan dealers.
Nissan have revealed, however, that the twin exhausts have been specially tuned to better enjoy the 3.5-litre 280PS V6 engine’s sound, that the top retracts in 20 seconds, and that Nissan engineers spent considerable time ensuring a buffet free interior. The chassis has also been strengthened to retain handling poise, too.
