The new Mitsubishi Shogun Sport will go on sale in the UK early in 2018.

The Shogun Sport offers a seven-seat option in Mitsubishi’s expanding SUV range, and is said to offer up to 1,488 litres of cargo space with the rear-most seats folded.

The styling borrows heavily from its Outlander brother, most notably with the company’s Dynamic Shield front end.

Power comes from a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine with 180hp and 430Nm of torque, driving all four wheels through a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Shogun Sport will offer a series of selectable off-road driving modes, plus hill descent control, trailer start assist and hill start assist.

Two models are expected to be offered, both with leather seats, keyless entry, and a new infotainment system.

The range-topping model goes further with heated seats, 360-degree parking cameras, blind spot warning, and radar-based collision mitigation systems.

Prices will be confirmed nearer to launch.
