Mazda has a new special edition, the Mazda MX-5 Arctic, to help cope with the changeable British weather this summer.
Priced from £17,000 for the 1.6i and £17,500 for the 1.8i model, the Arctic is fitted with air conditioning to keep you cool during the summer, and blue heated leather seats to keep you warm on chilly autumn days.
The MX-5 Arctic, fitted with a cloth soft top and new-style 15″ alloy wheels, is available with a 1.6-litre 110ps or 1.8-litre 146ps engine. These return 36.2mpg and 32.5mpg respectively on the Official combined cycle.
The Arctic also adds remote central locking and deadlocking, a single CD player with two additional tweeters and a wind blocker with two built-in additional speakers, which is normally an option on the 1.6i model.
There’s also the addition of chrome scuff plates and side window garnish, black leather trimmed steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever to complement the blue leather seats, blue door trim and a colour-matched blue soft top cover.
A choice of three exterior colours include a new Razor Blue metallic, unique to Mazda MX-5 Arctic, as well as the popular Titanium Grey and Sunlight Silver.
Mazda MX-5 Arctic customers also have the option to purchase an “ice-cool” accessories pack which includes rear style bar, sound board, chrome filler cap, chrome outer door handle finish and chrome door mirror finish. This is available at a special offer price of £499.95 RRP, which represents a customer saving of £375.
On sale from 1 August 2004, only 2,000 are available in the UK.
