The Mazda 6 has received a minor update to its 2.2-litre diesel engine aimed at improving both CO2 emissions and fuel economy.

The 2.2-litre 150PS SkyActiv diesel saloon sees its CO2 emissions fall from 108 g/km to 104 g/km when mated to the manual gearbox.

Fuel economy has also improved, from 67.3mpg to 72.4mpg on the combined cycle.

Likewise, the Mazda 6 Tourer sees emissions reduced from 116 g/km to 110 g/km, while economy increases from 64.2mpg to 67.3mpg.

This reduction in emissions means the heavier Tourer estate model now joins its saloon brother in VED Band B, with a £20 annual bill for road tax.

Power outputs remain unaffected, as do the prices, which start from £19,595 and range up to £28,295.
