Lexus announces prices for GS300 and GS430

Lexus has announced pricing for the new GS300 and GS430, due for launch in the UK on April 15th.

The GS300 range starts at £30,400 for the base model, which comes as standard with cruise control, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), climate control, push-button start, SmartKey keyless entry system, soft-close boot lid, automatic swivelling High-Intensity Discharge headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, tyre-pressure warning system, 10-speaker hi-fi system with 6-disc in-dash changer, and 17″ alloy wheels.

The next model up, the SE is set to be the most popular in the range, and is priced at £35,900. In addition to the base specification, the SE adds leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, satellite navigation with Electronic Traffic Avoidance (ETA), rain-sensing wipers, parking sensors front and rear, and a rear-view parking camera. For an additional £850, the SE is also available with an electric sunroof.

For £38,000, the SE-L model includes an upgrade to 18″ alloy wheels, the standard hi-fi system is replaced by the custom-designed Mark Levinson 14-speaker system, and a lip spoiler is added to the rear deck.

Lexus’ new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) systems, both of which use forward-facing radar, can be added to the SE-L for an additional £2,100.

The GS300 is powered by a newly-developed 3.0-litre V6 direct-injection petrol engine that develops 245bhp and is capable of propelling the GS to 62mph in 7.2 seconds. Mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission, the GS300 is capable of 28.8mpg on the combined cycle.

The 279bhp GS430 is currently available in only one model, priced at £46,755. It’s just over a second faster to 62mph than the GS300 at 6.1 seconds and returns 25.2mpg.

The new GS range is available in nine exterior colours – St Lucia Pearl, Caspian Sky, Palladio Silver, Astral Black, Mesa Red, Kalahari Sand, Boreal Green, Canterbury Blue and Athabasca Shale.

The interior comes in four themes – Kirkwall Black fabric for the entry-level model, and a choice of Kismore Black leather, Grampian Grey leather, or Sutherland Ivory leather for the other models.

The new GS has its official launch at Lexus dealers across the country on April 15th.
