Jaguar has confirmed that the new Jaguar XE will be unveiled in London on September 8th.

Built around a new light-weight aluminium platform, the new XE will incorporate a number of new technologies, with the company branding the car “the culmination of everything the company has learned over the years.”

Chief among them will be a new ‘integral link’ rear suspension system that is said to be able to deliver both agile performance and a luxurious ride.

Meanwhile, the front suspension makes use of a double wishbone set-up based on that of the F-Type sports car.

Many components in both systems are made from forged or hollow cast aluminium to provide both strength and light weight.

The company also revealed the new XE will be the first Jaguar to use a new electric power steering system with variable damping and a range of driver aids.

Also new will be All Surface Progress Control.  A development of Jaguar Land Rover’s experience in off-road traction systems, ASPC helps drivers pull-away from rest in slippery conditions.

The Jaguar XE world premiere will take place in London on September 8th.
