Taking inspiration from VIP air travel and concierge services, Ford will launch a Vignale (pronounced: Vin-ya-lay) sub-brand, starting with the Mondeo in early 2015.
Vignale products will feature a more up-market appearance to the exterior, greater use of luxury interior materials, and an enhanced dealership experience.
Ford says that its high-spec models currently count for more than half of Ford’s large car sales in Europe.
The Mondeo Vignale will launch in both saloon and estate form early in 2015, with other models receiving the Vignale treatment later on.
As featured at the Frankfurt show, the Mondeo Vignale concept wears 20-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles and mirror caps, mesh grille, unique front bumper and exclusive ‘Nocciola’ paintwork.
Inside, there’s quilted trim, soft-touch leather for the steering wheel, instrument panel, centre console and door tops, as well as embossed scuff plates and luxury floor mats.
“Vignale represents the highest expression of the Ford brand in Europe from both a product and from an ownership experience perspective,” said Stephen Odell, Ford president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The Ford Mondeo Vignale Concept showcases the features that customers tell us they want in terms of styling and quality, advanced technology and exclusivity.”
