Fiat has released the first photos of the new Fiat 500L MPW (‘Multi-Purpose Wagon’), which is known as the Fiat 500L Living elsewhere in Europe.
Described as a ‘5 + 2 seater’ the 500L MPW, at 435 cm, is 210 mm longer than the standard 500L it is based on, and 10 mm taller.
It features a third row of seats, although its ‘5 + 2’ name suggests they are more of an occasional nature than would be required to call the MPW a full seven-seater.
With the rear seats folded, boot capacity is 638 litres, 238 more than the standard 500L.
At launch, two petrol engines will be available – a 95 hp 1.4-litre and a 105 hp 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo – as well as two turbodiesels – an 85 hp 1.3-litre and a 105 hp 1.6-litre. The 1.3-litre unit will be available with the option of an automatic transmission.
There will be a choice of two trim levels – Pop Star and Lounge – with either five or seven seats. Customisation will be a strong point, with 19 body colours (including 11 two-tone options), 6 interior trims, and 15 different alloy wheel designs.
The Fiat 500L MPW will be produced in Serbia. Ordering opens in Italy in July, extended throughout Europe thereafter.
