The Fiat 500L range gains a new special edition in the form of the Fiat 500L Beats Edition, the result of a collaboration between Fiat and Beats by Dr Dre.

The 500L Beats Edition takes the chunky styling of the 500L Trekking and adds a new two-tone grey/black colour scheme in a choice of matte or gloss finishes.

The look continues with two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, black wheel-arch extensions, side skirts, and bumpers, plus door mirrors with red inserts matching the red of the brake callipers.

Inside, there’s a matte grey dashboard panel, and special black part-leather seats with red embroidered 500 logos.  Standard equipment receives a boost with the addition of dual-zone climate control.

Of course, the star of the show is the new BeatsAudio stereo system.  It produces an incredible total of 520W from an eight-channel DSP-equipped amplifier and seven speakers, two of which are subwoofers.

Should be enough to win a few challenges at your local drive-thru.

Two petrol engines are available – a 105hp 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo and a new 120hp 1.4-litre T-Jet – plus two diesel, both 1.6-litre MultiJet IIs with 105hp and 120hp.

The Fiat 500L Beats Edition will be available to order in mid-March 2014, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
