Daihatsu is celebrating the first birthday of its Charade city car with a summer offer that takes prices back to when it was launched.

With £300 off every Charade variant from 1 July to 30 September, the entry-level three-door ‘EL’ model is once again available for less than £6,000, at just £5,995 on-the-road.

The five-door EL, meanwhile, reverts to £6,495, and the five-door SL, which comes with air-conditioning, alloy wheels and side airbags as standard, is now £6,995.

Powered by a 1.0 litre petrol engine, the five-speed manual version is capable of just short of 70 mpg (68.9 Extra Urban Cycle) and produces 114 g/km CO2, qualifying it for the £75 twelve-month Road Fund Licence fee (AA band).

Standard equipment across the range includes, power steering, electric front windows and door mirrors, central-locking, a CD tuner, driver and passenger airbags and ABS with EBD.
