Daewoo goes Xtra Cool

With summer well and truly here, Daewoo has introduced a range of ‘Xtra Cool’ cars each equipped with air-conditioning as standard, along with a number of additional practical features.

An Xtra Cool model features in each of the Matiz, Kalos, Nubira and Tacuma ranges with Matiz Xtra Cool becoming the cheapest car in Britain with air-conditioning featured as standard.

The Matiz Xtra Cool costs just £6,495 and as well as air conditioning, features include an RDS radio/single CD player, power steering, ABS, central locking, electric windows and dual airbags. The Xtra Cool model is only available with the 1.0 litre 64PS engine. For just £500 more, a ‘Plus Pack’ option is available which contains metallic/mica paint and Xtra alloy wheels.

The five-door Kalos Xtra Cool, at £7,995, is powered by a 1.2 litre 72PS engine, and specification includes air-conditioning, dual front and side airbags, ABS, remote locking, engine immobiliser, electric windows all-round and single-slot CD player. The £500 ‘Plus Pack’ adds metallic/mica paint and 14″ alloy wheels.

The Nubira Xtra Cool uses the 1.8 litre 122PS engine, while the spec adds automatic climate control air-conditioning with a cooled glove box compartment and rain sensing windscreen wipers to the kit available on the previous models. Price is £10,495 on the road.

Finally, the Tacuma Xtra Cool, at £10,995, features a 2.0 litre 121PS engine, and includes three separate, foldable and removable rear seats, a single CD player and reverse parking sensors.
