The Audi Q3 range has gained a new entry-level model with the arrival of the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine.

Offered in 2WD form only, the 1.4 TFSI produces 150PS at 5-6,000rpm with peak torque of 250Nm from 1,750 to 3,000rpm.

A 1.4 TFSI Q3 equipped with Audi’s DSG-style S tronic transmission can accelerate from 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds (9.2 secs for six-speed manual models) and on to a 126mph top speed.

Official fuel economy figures show 47.9 mpg on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 137 g/km (145 g/km for S tronic models) placing it in VED Band E (£125 pa).

The new 1.4 Q3 is available in SE and S line trim levels, with prices starting from £23,870.

Elsewhere in the Q3 range, a new S line Plus trim level has been added to all quattro-equipped 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI models.

Priced at £2,350 above the S line trim, the new S line Plus grade adds 19-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, perforated leather/Alcantara upholstery, cruise control, parking system, and SD card-based satellite navigation.

Prices for the Q3 S line Plus start at £31,835 for the 2.0 TFSI and £32,140 for the 2.0 TDI.
