The Mitsubishi ASX has been updated both inside and out for 2020, including a new petrol engine.
Matching the ever-popular Outlander, the ASX has now received the company’s Dynamic Shield styling, thanks to entirely new sheet metal from the windscreen forwards.
To match the new front-end design, the rear has been tweaked with new bumpers and LED light clusters, while two new colours – Red Diamond and Oak Brown – join new 18-inch alloy wheels that feature across the range.
The interior, too, sees a modest update with new upholstery, black headlining, and black and silver trim accents.
Technology-wise, there’s a new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while TomTom navigation is standard on the Exceed model.
There’s also full LED lighting, a reversing camera, new Active Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill Start Assist features, plus Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the Exceed.
Perhaps more useful, however, is the adoption of a new 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 150hp and 195Nm of torque.
It manages to shave two seconds off the 0-62mph time (now down to 10.2 seconds) with economy of 37.7 mpg (WLTP Combined).
It’s mated to a five-speed transmission as standard, although a CVT auto is an option for the top-spec Exceed model. Unfortunately, only the CVT auto is offered with all-wheel-drive.
All models benefit from automatic LED headlights, cruise control, air conditioning, keyless entry, privacy glass, heated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, automatic wipers, reversing camera, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Exceed models gain a panoramic glass sunroof, leather upholstery, TomTom satnav, chrome door handles, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
