The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is available to order now in the UK, with prices starting from £35,935 for the 2.0-litre diesel E220d, or £44,930 for the 3.0-litre E350d.
Two grades are available for each model – SE, and AMG Line.
SE models are equipped with Garmin Map Pilot, parking sensors, reversing camera, Park Pilot, colour-selectable ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, heated leather seats, LED headlights and tail-lights, electrically folding mirrors, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
AMG Line models include AMG exterior styling with unique bumpers and side skirts, plus 19-inch alloy wheels over perforated brake discs. Inside, there’s an AMG three-spoke steering wheel, and part-leather seats (a mix of Artico leather and Dynamica microfibre).
All E350d models also come with Air Body Control air suspension, COMAND navigation, 12.3-inch display and remote online services.
Two options packages have been confirmed: the £2,795 Premium pack adds panoramic glass roof, keyless start, and front seat memory.
For £3,895, the Premium Plus pack goes on to add the 590W Burmester Surround Sound system, and Multibeam LED headlights.
A Driver Assistance Plus Package adds a variety of electro-safety gubbins for £1,695, while COMAND navigation can be added to the E220d for £1,495. The 12.3-inch display costs another £495.
The E220d is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder bi-turbo engine developing 195hp and 400Nm, with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard. It can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 7.3 seconds, and return up to 72.4 mpg.
The E350d, meanwhile, is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit with 258hp and 620Nm. It can complete the same sprint in just 5.9 seconds, with economy of up to 55.4 mpg.
Emissions for the two models are 102 g/km and 133 g/km respectively, although these are affected by wheel choices.
First deliveries are expected in May.
