The new Skoda Octavia Scout is available to order now, with prices starting from £25,315.

It’s a more rugged version of the company’s Octavia Estate, boasting increased ride height, 4×4 system, and a tougher look.

Skoda says the new Octavia Scout is 20% more fuel efficient than the previous model.

Two engine choices are available, both TDI diesel units of 2.0-litres in capacity.  The first 150PS version boasts economy of 55.4mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 129 g/km, and while the more powerful 184PS version matches it for economy, its emissions are slightly higher at 134 g/km.

The 150PS unit drives the fifth-generation Haldex-based 4×4 system through a six-speed manual gearbox, while the 184PS power-plant uses a six-speed DSG transmission.

All Scout models are fitted with nine airbags and a number of additional safety systems such as Crew Protection Assist, Intelligent Light Assist, and Park Assist.  A rear-view camera can be added as an option.
