Land Rover has made a number of changes to the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport for the 2015 model year, with greater personalisation, new colours, and a modest tweak to the engine.
The SDV8 diesel engine now produces 339PS and 740Nm of torque, 40Nm more than before, while additional changes mean the peak torque figure is available across a wider range, from 1700 – 3300rpm.
The company says in-gear acceleration figures have seen an improvement as a result (by up to 6.5% in some cases), while fuel economy and emissions figures remain unchanged at 32.5 mpg and 229 g/km.
The ZF-supplied 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission has been fitted with a revised torque converter with a twin-spring damper.
Detail changes include new puddle-lamps that project the vehicle’s silhouette onto the ground at night, plus new options in the form of a panoramic roof with power blinds, new 19-inch alloy wheels in Satin Dark Grey for the Range Rover, and 22-inch wheels for the long wheelbase models.
Two new colours – Aruba Silver and Kaikoura Stone – have been added, while the Range Rover Sport can now be ordered with a black roof and black door sills.
In the Range Rover, a new Intelligent Cargo Mode detects if the front seats are likely to interfere with the rear seats during folding, and moves them forward automatically. They return to their original position (or as close as possible) when the rear seats are fully flat.
Both Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models feature Land Rover’s InControl Remote and InControl Secure systems as standard, while InControl Apps and InControl Wi-Fi also make their debut on the Range Rover models.
The 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be available to order from July 16th.
