Mercedes C-Class Estate to be priced from £28,055
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the new C-Class Estate will be priced from £28,055 when it arrives in the UK this September.
Initially only three engines will be offered, starting with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit in the C 200 that develops 184hp and 300Nm of torque.
Perhaps the more interesting option is the entry-level diesel unit of the C 220 BlueTEC. The 2.1-litre turbodiesel produces 170hp and 400Nm of torque, but more impressive are the economy figures of 65.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 108 g/km, leading to an annual road tax bill of just £20.
Both entry-level units are available with a choice of either six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.
For now, the range is topped off by the C 250 BlueTEC that uses a high-power version of the 2.1-litre diesel with 204hp and 500Nm. It achieves 62.8mpg while emitting 117 g/km of CO2.
Two additional engines will follow later in the year in the shape of the C 200 BlueTEC diesel and C 300 BlueTEC Hybrid.
Three trim grades are offered – SE, Sport and AMG Line – while six options packs – Executive Pack, Premium Pack, Premium Plus Pack, Driving Assistance Pack, AirMatic Agility Pack, and Air-Balance Pack – allow further customisation.
