The Mazda CX-5 range has received a number of revisions to its suspension for 2014 aimed at improving ride comfort and refinement, plus a new clutch restart system.

The suspension modifications include retuned dampers, bushes and stabilisers which, as well as improving ride quality, are said to reduce noise and vibration.

Manual models also receive a new clutch restart system that allows the driver to restart a stalled engine simply by depressing the clutch within three seconds.

Automatic models now have a straight shift pattern, as seen on the Mazda3.

SE-L Lux and Sport models now also benefit from electric seats for both driver and passenger, with a memory function for the driver’s seat.

Two new colours have been added to the range – Blue Reflex Mica and Deep Crystal Blue Mica – while leather trim becomes a £200 option on some models in either Black or Light Stone.

Prices for the 2014 Mazda CX-5 start at £21,595 and rise to £29,595.
