The Land Rover Discovery has received a number of enhancements for the 2014 model year, with a subtle facelift, new badging, uprated audio systems and improved efficiency measures.
The 2014 Discovery receives a new grille, front bumper and headlight design with integrated LED daytime running lights.
There are two new alloy designs to choose from, while the badging has been subtly revised, with ‘Discovery’ replacing the ‘Land Rover’ badge on the bonnet, and the ‘4’ removed from the tailgate leaving just the word ‘Discovery.’
The engine badge has been moved from the tailgate to the front doors, and now appears as ‘SDV6’ for the UK market.
Under the bonnet, the 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine benefits from the addition of a stop/start system, leading to reduced emissions – now 213g/km down from 230g/km – and improved economy – now 35.3mpg on the combined cycle, up from 32.1mpg.
The Discovery also gains Land Rover’s Wade Sensing system that monitors the depth of water in off-road conditions, as well as Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection and T-junction cameras.
There’s also now the option of a 825W 17-speaker Meridian premium audio system.
The 2014 Land Rover Discovery is available to order now, with first deliveries from mid-November.
