Kia’s best-selling model, the Sportage, has received a number of updates for the 2014 model year.
The front grille has been tweaked and now wears a mesh finish, while the rear lights now offer improved illumination.
Top-spec models also receive LED lighting and a shark fin antenna mounted on the roof.
There are new alloy wheel designs in 16, 17 and 18-inch sizes, and the Sportage continues to come with a full size spare wheel as standard.
Inside, there’s a new soft paint finish to the dashboard and centre console, the door tops now use a softer trim, and the tweeters have been repositioned for better sound quality.
A six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and heated steering wheel make an appearance on top-spec models.
Elsewhere in the cabin, the instruments have been revised and a new colour touch-screen appears on some models complete with rear-view camera. An Infinity stereo with seven-speakers also features on high-end models.
All models now benefit from Trailer Stability Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitoring.
Although the engines remain as before, a new entry-level 2.0-litre CRDi AWD model and a 1.7-litre CRDi 2WD model have been added to the range.
Prices for the 2014 Kia Sportage start at £17,495 for the ‘1’ 1.6 GDi, rising to £29,495 for the KX-4 2.0 CRDi auto. Pre-orders are being taken now, with first deliveries due in February.
