September’s Paris Motor Show will see Volvo unveil its first ever V8 engine fitted to a production model - although it won’t make it to the UK.
The new V8 will be fitted to the Volvo XC90 SUV. Mated to a new 6 speed automatic gearbox, the 4.4-litre engine will deliver 315 bhp, accelerate from 0-62 mph in 7.0 secs and be the first V8 to meet the forthcoming Euro 5 requirements.
Production starts in early 2005, but this new variant will not be available with right hand drive in the UK market.
