The new Audi A6 line-up expands this month with the introduction of the S line.
Ranging in price from £27,145 to £44,485, the S line models feature eye-catching exterior upgrades, suspension and braking modifications and interior enhancements designed to sharpen the car’s sporting character.
Externally, the S line models are 30 mm lower than standard models, and ride on 18-inch 5-arm alloy wheels. There’s also the option of a more sporting front bumper, a unique grille design with S line badging, and a special rear bumper with a body-coloured lower diffuser, at an extra cost of £1,100 (or £875 for 4.2 quattro models).
Inside, the car gains front sports seats with electrically adjustable lumbar support, S line emblems embossed in the back rests, black ‘Speed’ cloth upholstery with leather side sections, brushed aluminium fascia inlays, a three-spoke sports steering wheel trimmed in perforated leather, perforated leather covering for the gear knob, and a black cloth headlining.
Four engines are available in the A6 range at present, all of which are available with the S line specification. A 177PS 2.4 petrol kicks off the range, followed by a 256PS 3.2 petrol with FSI direct petrol injection and a 3.0 TDI V6 with 225PS. A compact V8 petrol unit with 335PS powers range flagships. A 140PS 2.0 TDI will be available from September, and a 177PS 2.7 TDI is due in December.
